Associate Pastor of Discipleship

Grace Baptist Church is an independent, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, and missions-oriented Church located in Brockport, NY. We are a growing congregation with a heart to glorify God as we exalt the Lord, edify the saints, and evangelize the lost. We are currently seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship.

Responsibilities:

• The Associate Pastor of Discipleship will be responsible for the discipleship ministries of the church.
• He will lead the development of new discipleship ministries, including the training and establishment of lay leaders to eventually be the primary leaders.
• He will provide leadership in the development and expansion of current discipleship ministries.
• He will partner with current ministry leaders by providing support, guidance, training, and assistance in the selection of resources.
• He will assist the Senior Pastor in other ministry areas such as visitation, weddings, funerals, counseling, and occasional preaching.

Qualifications:

• The Associate Pastor of Discipleship will be a man with a desire to develop and disciple his fellow Christians.
• His character must be consistent with that outlined by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3.1-7 and Titus 1.5-9.
• He must have completed a Bachelor’s degree, but we will give preference to candidates who have completed a Master’s Degree. Experience in discipleship ministry and/or an educational emphasis in discipleship is required.
• His doctrine and long-term ministry goals must align with the doctrine and goals of Grace Baptist Church.
• He must have good interpersonal skills and some managerial/leadership skills.
• Comfortable working with a variety of Bible Translations.
